Vision
A community where everyone, regardless of ability, has equal opportunities to live an active, connected, and fulfilling life. People In Motion envisions a world where barriers to recreation, social inclusion, and independence no longer exist — a community where individuals of all ages who require adaptive supports, regardless of their abilities, have the freedom, support, and resources to fully participate in adaptive sports, outdoor recreation, outdoor adventures, and all aspects of community life.Through innovation, advocacy, and collaboration, we strive to create an inclusive society where accessibility is not an afterthought but a standard and where every person is empowered to reach their full potential.
Mission
The Kelowna & District Society for People In Motion (People In Motion) is unique in its scope of practice and programs. We work to develop and enhance the lives of persons with disabilities and provide informal support for persons with disabilities and seniors who require adaptive supports, recognizing that the social isolation and obstacles inherent to the disability or adaptive needs can prevent or hinder opportunities to engage in healthy, active living activities and relationship development. Bringing people together – for a common purpose and helping to break down barriers by providing inclusive, adaptive support and services is the heart of what we do at People In Motion.
