Bus Tours

Our newer model bus will help ensure that we provide safe, reliable, and comfortable accessible transportation. Individuals requiring wheelchair-accessible transportation can travel with their personal “Bubble” to the many sites and attractions throughout the Okanagan. Examples of our tours are the O’Keefe Ranch, Kettle Valley Steam Railway, Grist Mill, the Log Barn, and wine tours, which can be customized for each group, to name a few. We hope to allow individuals to experience some of Okanagan’s best attractions. We are pleased to say that we can accommodate up to two wheelchair spots per tour and 12 passengers.

Pricing for our “Out & About” Tours is $50.00 per hour, including vehicle, driver, fuel & taxes.

Reservations are confirmed once full payment is received. There is a minimum daytime booking of 4 hours on Sat & Sun.

Contact us to arrange your private “Out and About” tour, gather your friends and family and spend the day touring the Okanagan sites and wineries as you wish.

Please email us at: info@pimbc.ca to make arrangements.

People In Motion’s Wheelchair Accessible Van

People In Motion has a wheelchair-accessible van available for our members. We have updated our van with a 2012 350 Ford model with room for 2 wheelchairs and 2 passengers plus the driver. People In Motion members may borrow this vehicle to easily access and experience the Okanagan Valley’s fabulous array of community & natural resources.

By phoning the People In Motion office at (250) 861-3302, members may borrow the van on a first come – first served basis in exchange for a suggested donation.

To borrow the van, members of People In Motion must supply their driver. The driver must have the following criteria, (1) a minimum valid BC driver’s license and their own vehicle insurance in BC, (2) is a BC resident, plus 1 of Number 3, 4, or 5, (3) has BC Medical Services coverage, (4) Employed or (5) pay taxes in BC, this is an ICBC requirement. In addition, a valid BC Class 4 driver’s license is required to transport participants in organized groups or clients. The driver can take members on short weekday trips around town (not to exceed 100 km from Kelowna, BC), e.g. for essential appointments, shopping excursions, or visiting friends. Members can book this convenient, door-to-door service through People In Motion for the exact times they need.

With sufficient advance notice given to the PIM office, members may borrow the van for longer-duration trips – a full day or two. This will allow individuals to experience firsthand some of the Okanagan Valley’s magnificent natural landscapes, regional fairs, festivals, & tourist attractions.

People In Motion members may reserve the van for several days when availability allows. As our name illustrates, People In Motion understands that mobility can be the most critical community resource enabling people with disabilities to participate in activities outside their homes. This service has the power to deliver happier, healthier & more socially invested citizens with disabilities. In turn, individuals may wish to contribute to their communities in any way possible. Accessible transportation is the critical puzzle that closes our human circle, where everyone can access and enjoy the many benefits of living in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia.
