Program Overview
People in Motion’s Powderhounds program is designed to assist anyone at any age with physical, cognitive, or sensory challenges who wants to enjoy the slopes at Big White. We provide upright ski & snowboard instruction, and sit-skiing for those who need additional support.
Our program offers instruction tailored to each participant’s needs. We are certified Adaptive Ski Instructors and volunteers! The lesson times are either 10:00 am -12:00pm or 1:00pm -3:00pm. Sessions run 7 days a week – advanced registration is required.
The cost to register for Powderhounds is $115 for the season. This includes Canadian Adaptive Snowsports (CADS) & BC Adaptive Snowsports (BCAS) memberships, $35 + $27 respectively. Also included is your $53 Powderhounds / People In Motion membership. All three memberships are required to participate in lessons. Individual lessons do not carry any further charge after this amount. Lift tickets & equipment rentals will need to be organised separately, through Big White.
Registration info & dates
CADS/BCAS REGISTRATION will begin September 1st on Snowlinepro.com. This will allow you to enter your details, setup or renew your account, and be added to our email list for the season.
[Note, this is not your confirmed spot for the season, but simply ‘official expression of interest’. It will allow you to pay for BCAS & CADS memberships at this stage, however you may wait until mid-October, when you have a confirmed lesson spot, before paying these fees, as they are non-refundable.]
All registration for lessons is done through Snowlinepro.com. Select ‘LESSONS’, then ‘Student’. Signup using the name of the person taking the lesson. Each Learner must have their own account. Full lesson program registration opens mid-October – exact date & reminders will be sent directly to everyone with a Powderhounds Snowlinepro account.

FAQs
I signed up for an account, and paid my CADS/BCAS Memberships, does this mean I have successfully signed up for Powderhounds lessons?
NO. If you’ve done all the above, this will make the opening date of lesson registration much more straight forward, but this is not the end of the process. You are more than welcome to hold off on paying the CADS/BCAS Memberships until after you have a Confirmed Lesson Slot with Powderhounds, as these two fees are non-refundable.
Once your account is fully setup, you must then also select and complete a ‘PROGRAMS/LESSONS’ option. You will then receive a Program Welcome Confirmation email, at which point the payments for CADS, BCAS and Powderhounds will become due.
The booking website says the timeslot I want is already full – do you have a Waiting List? Please contact email phparticipants@pimbc.ca
I only want to try one lesson, do I have to pay the full season membership fee?
We offer a one-lesson trial with a “One Day” membership, priced at $20. This is for those new to the sport, or new to lessons.
Do I need a helmet or goggles?
Helmets are required for all Powderhounds lessons. Goggles or other eye protection is highly recommended for all skill levels, as conditions can change quickly. Eye protection is required for VI Learners.
I have taken lessons at other Adaptive Clubs around Canada, do I need to create a new Snowlinepro account?
No, please use your existing login credentials, and follow instructions to port your Profile over to us. Use the FIND CLUB option on the Main Menu, or if you need further assistance please email us phparticipants@pimbc.ca
How many Learners are in each lesson?
Each lesson is customized to each student’s needs, though the typical structure is 2 instructors to 1 student, in a Private Lesson format.
I would like to book an AM & PM lesson on the same day, can I do that?
We typically advise no more than one session per day for our learners.
Do you provide transportation to the mountain?
Parents/Caregivers are responsible for getting participants to the hill and being at the meeting place for the start of their lesson, dressed and ready to ski.
Do you have any equipment we can rent?
We do not provide skis/snowboards or boots, but these can be rented at Big White Rentals on the hill. Big White also offers Clothing Rentals
If you are taking a Sit-ski Lesson, we will provide the Sit-ski/Outriggers, unless you’re bringing your own, in which case let us know.
All of our specialised equipment, including Sit-skis, can only be used during Lessons – they are not available for renting outside of Lessons.
