The Kelowna & District Society for People in Motion In Operation since 1987

Welcome to People In Motion!

The Kelowna & District Society for People In Motion (People In Motion) is unique in its scope of practice and programs.   We work to develop and enhance the lives and informal supports for people with disAbilities and seniors with special needs – recognizing that the social isolation and obstacles inherent to the disability or special needs can prevent or hinder opportunities to engage in healthy active living activities and relationship development.  Because bringing people together – for a common purpose; creating a good life for people with disAbilities and special needs is the heart of what we do at People In Motion.

Our members have access to adaptive recreational programs that include sports like adaptive downhill & cross country skiing, snow shoeing, wheelchair basketball, power wheelchair soccer, wheelchair curling. We also provide lift equipped transportation which includes our Van Loan services and our 20 passenger lift equipped Bus. We have a variety of adaptive recreational equipment available for self guided adaptive hiking, cycling and access to the beaches with our beach chairs to members through our equipment loans program.

People In Motion is Valley Wide, Locally Funded & Volunteer Driven

People In Motion does not receive core government funding, and is accountable directly to the community. Money raised by People In Motion stays in this community to serve local citizens and guests with all its programs and services.
